Pro-life a) Do you consider yourself pro-choice or pro-life?
b) Should abortion be legal only within the first trimester of pregnancy?
c) Should abortion be legal when the pregnancy resulted from incest or rape?
d) Should abortion be legal when the life of the woman is endangered?
e) Should federal subsidies be prohibited from being used for abortion procedures?
The medical field has made significant progress since the debate on this issue began. Although I am for an exception when the life of the mother is in danger, that is rarely the case today.

Yes 3) Do you support the elimination of the federal estate tax?
Yes 4) Do you support requiring the federal budget to be balanced each year?
No 5) Do you support using government funds in an effort to stimulate and improve the economy?
I feel we need to eliminate the Income Tax and Payroll deduction taxes and replace them with a simple, transparent and fair consumption tax, the FairTax (HR-25).
Stimulus spending only works on a very small scale. I feel the spending needs to take place in the form of Tax credits. This is spending, but on the front end vs the government collecting the tax and injecting its costs of being the middleman. It is a more efficient way to stimulate the economy and helps those who create jobs, small businesses as well as putting the money directly in the tax payers hands.
Yes a) Do you support privatizing elements of Social Security?
Yes b) Do you support reducing government regulations on the private sector?
No c) Do you support increasing the federal minimum wage?
Yes d) Do you support the ability of workers to unionize?
Yes e) Do you support federal funding for job-training programs that retrain displaced workers?
Although I support the ability for workers to Unionize, I feel the unions have not represented the best interest of the workers and their policies have negatively impacted jobs in America as well as our education system.
No a) Do you support increasing the amount individuals are permitted to contribute to federal campaigns?
Yes b) Should Congress regulate indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions?
No c) Do you support removing all contribution limits on federal campaigns?
Yes d) Should candidates for federal office be encouraged to meet voluntary spending limits?
Yes e) Do you support giving the President the power of the line item veto for items concerning appropriations?
No f) Do you support limiting the President's ability to define how legislation is applied through the use of signing statements?
g) Other or expanded principles
Yes a) Do you support capital punishment for certain crimes?
Yes b) Do you support programs that provide prison inmates with vocational and job-related training and job-placement assistance when released?
Yes c) Do you support programs that provide prison inmates with substance abuse treatment?
No d) Do you support reduced prison sentences for non-violent offenders?
No e) Do you support mandatory prison sentences for selling illegal drugs?
I support limited job training and job placement. This would be for non violent, non repeat offenders. Also as far as the mandatory sentences for selling illegal drugs, I feel that the use of drug courts are needed and provide a better means of weeding out the non violent offenders who may need drug treatment vs a prison sentence.
No a) Do you support federal education standards and testing requirements for K-12 students?
No b) Do you support federal funding for universal pre-K programs?
No c) Do you support federal funding for charter schools?
No d) Do you support federal funding for K-12 school vouchers?
Yes e) Do you support the federal government providing college students with financial aid?
Each State should provide their own funding for these programs. Education needs to be controlled by a locally elected school board and not by the Department of Education which is far removed from the local school system's needs. We spend on average $10,000 a year per student, yet our graduation rates and test scores plummet. If we are to solve the education problem, we need direct control of the issues each local school system faces. The Department of education should be used to measure results, but not dictate the standards.
No a) Do you support enacting environmental regulations aimed at reducing the effects of climate change?
No b) Do you support international emissions targets aimed at reducing the effects of climate change?
No c) Do you support allowing energy producers to trade carbon credits under a "cap and trade" system?
d) Do you support strengthening fuel efficiency standards on all gasoline and diesel-powered engines, including cars, trucks, and sport utility vehicles?
Yes e) Do you support domestic oil exploration in federally-protected areas?
No f) Do you support federal funding for the development of alternative energy?
Yes g) Do you support the development of nuclear reactors?
We need to be responsible stewards of our planet and its environment, however the current legislation Cap and Trade will kill jobs in the US and send manufacturing jobs to countries like China and India where no environmental standards exist.
No a) Do you support restrictions on the purchase and possession of guns?
Yes b) Do you believe that the Second Amendment guarantees the right of individual citizens to own guns?
Yes c) Do you support allowing individuals to carry concealed guns?
No d) Do you support a ban on assault rifles?
I do support the background checks that are used today to ensure that felons and those not mentally competent do not obtain weapons.
No a) Do you support a publicly-administered health insurance option?
Yes b) Do you support expanding access to health care through commercial health insurance reform?
Yes c) Should the federal government expand eligibility for tax-free medical savings accounts?
Yes d) Do you support monetary limits on damages that can be collected in malpractice lawsuits?
Yes e) Do you support relaxing regulations on the importation of prescription drugs?
The government run Health Care solution is not the answer and I think is geared toward forcing Americans toward a Single Payer system. We need to address the cost of Health Care not the quality or availability. Our Health insurance needs to be more like auto insurance, in that it is used for significant health events, IE child birth, hospitalization, etc. Consumers then can use the health savings accounts to pay for doctors visits and etc. This will force providers to compete on price. Through the use of technology we can also help doctors reduce their costs and liability.
No a) Do you support a pathway to citizenship for illegal immigrants?
No b) Do you support decreasing the number of legal immigrants allowed into the country?
Yes c) Do you support establishing English as the official national language?
Yes d) Do you support the enforcement of federal immigration laws by state and local police?
I support either deporting or registering illegal immigrants as guest workers, securing our borders, and cracking down on anyone who hires an illegal immigrant. This way, anyone who is in our country is here legally and then pays for the use of our schools, hospitals and other services. We need to increase the number of immigrants we allow in the country legally. We also need to create legislation that defines those born in America are only citizens if their parents are here legally. Immigrants who are guest workers can apply for citizenship behind those already in line.
b) Do you support increasing military assistance for Afghanistan?
c) Do you support increasing economic development assistance for Afghanistan?
Yes d) Should the United States continue to strike suspected terrorist targets in Pakistan?
e) Do you support granting aid to countries when it is in the security interests of the United States?
No f) Should the United States support the creation of a Palestinian state?
g) Do you support increasing sanctions on Iran if it continues to defy United Nations mandates?
Yes h) Do you support the withdrawal of United States troops from Iraq?
Yes i) Do you support the United States' involvement in free trade agreements?
Unknown Position a) Do you support United States military action in Afghanistan?
We need to determine a new direction with Afghanistan. We need a clearly defined mission as well as an exit strategy. I believe the fight is now in Pakistan and we should redefine our focus in that region. As far as Free Trade, we need to participate but the negotiations should focus on Fair trade and a level playing field. Countries like China and India do not have the restrictions our businesses have and we need to do more to bring back the four million manufacturing jobs we lost with the enactment of NAFTA.
No b) Do you support allowing openly-gay men and women to serve in the United States military?
No c) Do you support federal funding for embryonic stem cell research?
Yes d) Should the federal government end affirmative action programs?
e) Other or expanded principles
Unknown Position a) Should marriage only be between one man and one woman?
Repeal Obamacare and work toward reforming healthcare costs. Reinstate the Bush tax cuts for all for two years and work towards real tax reform, the FairTax. Reform/revisit NAFTA to bring back manufacturing jobs to the US. Secure our borders, reform Social Security with personalized Social Security for those who are in their 40s and below. Reduce government spending across the board, working to change the budgetary model to a zero baseline budgetary system vs the use it or lose it model. Implementing Term Limits and the Enumerated Powers Act. Implement a balance budget amendment and a sunset clause for legislation.
